Pixies

One cannot underestimate the influence Pixies have had on modern rock music. Everyone from David Bowie and Bono to Thom Yorke, The Strokes and Pavement has called Pixies their favorite band, while Kurt Cobain often mentioned that their "loud, quiet, loud"-philosophy had a fundamental influence on his songwriting in Nirvana.

After their breakup in 1993, they reformed in 2004, and has since released two new albums with a third one to follow in September this year.
